Troubleshooting
My income goal bar is not moving
What counts toward the goal, what is switched off by default for some people, and why it can run ahead of your bank.
- 1Goals are set per YEAR. A goal you set last year does not carry over, so on January 1st the bar has nothing to measure against until you set this year’s. Reports -> Analytics.
- 2Four things can count toward it: what you took at markets, other income recorded against an event, online sales not attached to any event, and standalone other income such as a QuickBooks import.
- 3That last one is optional, and it is the usual answer. Settings -> Business has a switch for counting Other Income toward your annual goal. With it off, the figure is still shown everywhere and still counts on your tax report — it just does not move the goal bar.
- 4Cancelled and rejected events are left out entirely. Marking a show cancelled removes its income from the bar, which can make the bar go DOWN. That is correct, not a fault.
- 5The bar can also run ahead of your bank balance: an upcoming show that already has an income figure on it counts straight away. If your goal looks suspiciously good, check whether a future event is carrying a number.
- 6The dashboard and the Analytics page read the same goal and the same sum, so if those two ever disagree, that is worth reporting.
